The Clarendon Foundation (Cheshire Homes) Inc. provides support services to assist persons
with a disability with activities of daily living. This enables them to live independently in their community.
Examples of the support that we provide are:
- Personal care
Meals
Homemaking
Escorts for essential errands such as medical appointments
Our services are provided, as needed, throughout the twenty-four (24) hour day, 365 days per year.
Services are provided on the basis of:
- Pre-booked visits
- On-call assistance, as needed
Clarendon’s front-line staff team consists of Personal Care Attendants and Housekeepers. All Personal
Care Attendants are trained as Personal Support Workers (PSWs). Each site cluster has a Manager of
Assisted Living, as well as a Weekend and On-Call Manager. The Head Office team ensures consistency
and compliance with all legislation, administrative, and financial functions.
Clarendon is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that is elected annually. It is drawn from
volunteers in the community and persons with a disability. The Board o
f Directors meets monthly and
provides strategic direction and oversight.
The majority of Clarendon’s funding is provided by the Local Health Integration Network, which is funded
by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Charitable donations fund services that are not
eligible for government funds.
